After receiving such a cooling rain last night, everyone rested well. We have a busy 2 days ahead as there are Medical clinics being held in Port au Prince at Christa College and Cazeau, and now that our precious container has arrived, Sponsorship is excited to hand out a few hundred sponsor boxes to eagerly awaiting children from various schools.

In Glenn’s devotion this morning he read: ‘God gives us what we need. Trust in his care and walk with him through life’s challenges’ – which is what we will do.

Our boutique is FULL! Today’s challenge is to sort through all the generous donations of shoes, toys, stuffies, milk mats and clothing. Kelly is in charge of getting the boutique in order – Lucders was her right hand man today as it was another hot day and they were inside all day with just a fan for relief. Kelly has the shelves labeled for the clothing, and Dave, Glenn and Shawn installed more shelves to accommodate all the donations. Mats were brought to the church and laid out, ready to be handed out. Shoes and clothing were also sorted on church benches. Babies, girl and boy toddler, ladies and mens in various sizes. We cannot believe how generous people are with their donations. We had lots of school children looking in at what we were doing and you could tell they were excited that perhaps they would be given something. Before Christmas, Pastor Charles will allow the people of the community to come into the boutique and choose articles that they need. After this is done, the remaining donations will be taken to local churches and give to the pastors to hand out to the needy in their communities. Kelly found a special shirt in the boutique that she just had to share with Deb. (see pic) We will all gather as a team this evening to continue unpacking clothes, sorting, folder and putting them away in the boutique.

The roof had a bit of a delay today when it was discovered this morning that the wrong screws were purchased for the type of steel roof being installed. A trip to Port au Prince righted that, and they will continue with laying the new roof tomorrow.

Sponsorship saw over ¾’s of the children at Christa College belonging to CC and OA groups. There was a sponsored girl who had passed away since our last trip here and her father came to the school today and the team was able to express their condolences to him on his loss. Sponsorship will be in Faveau and Cabaret tomorrow hoping to see as many of MTH’s remaining sponsored children to give them their sponsor boxes.

Today in medical saw Daisy venturing from construction into the field of medicine with Lammy as her mentor. Daisy really enjoyed her day and seeing all the people that came through their station. By the end of the day she was taking blood pressures on people. Even after Lammy’s no cell phone rule, somehow she ended up in a selfie with Daisy! Jessica helped in Pharmacy and enjoyed talking to the patients when they were receiving their medication. There was a lady there today who has been coming to our clinics for the past 6 years that has a growth on her chin. In the past we have paid and set up a surgery for her by Canadian doctors, only to find out that she is HIV positive and could not be operated on. The money continues to pay for her medications in the hopes that her HIV moves to a level where doctors can operate. The team said that it was a very busy day in medical with many illnesses and not just minor complaints. Upon returning home, Lesa’s sponsored girl was ill and needed to be tended to, and Lammy went right away to look after her. Lesa was very moved and thankful for this.

Challenges were faced today, some by more than others – but we all came through them as a team.

Hi everyone and especially my Mom, Lammy–
I hope all is well with each of you and that you have good energy and cheer for your next few days together. Another Desmond Tutu quote for you:
“If you recall the happiest moments in your life, they are all from when you were doing something for somebody else.”
Wishing you more happy moments as you give generously of yourselves in Haiti.
With love, Lisa

Hey team!
What a blog post. Where to start!!!

IM SO THURILLED to hear the boutique was over flowing!!! Also it was hard to see the picture of the shirt !!! I’m so curious 🙈🙊 I’m excited to see that MORE shelves had to be put up!!! When my mom and I unloaded our hockey bags i took pictures and a video to send to my manager and her son expressing my gratitude for all their generations donations and even picked her son ( Lincoln ) up a little souvenir with a thank you card, thanking them for helping out all kinds of children who didn’t have cloths. I think I’ve inspired other team members to do the same. I’m going to make up a flyer to take into work with me today. FANTASTIC JOB Kelly, Lucd ra.

Sounds like a emotional day for all of you, I have a little devotional from my Angle book for the whole team ✨❤️

Open your arms to receive
The universe is constantly getting to you in Waze both small and large. When someone offers to assist you, buys you lunch, or hands you a gift, open your arms to receive. The more you say yes to blessings, the more the universe energy freely flows to and throughout you. When you push away offered help, you close the door to this abundance. Today, open your arms and hearts to welcome any gifts that come your and say yes. Allow yourself to be helped to, loved. Let your self receive.

It’s thought sometimes finding the perfect devotional. But this one spoke to me because all of you are down their giving every part of your self to the people, to the work, some not sleeping all that much some hungry, it’s easy to feel burnt out and a little defeated, we can’t always help everybody. And I know it’s really emotional involving children, sponcer children and people in general. Try to keep your chins up, we may not be able to save everyone but we can sure try and I know all of you are doing your best. I hope your hearts are full and you understand how special you all are. Remember that your all loved to. And what you all do and how are you all work dose not go unnoticed, especially to god he see and hears it all. ❤️ Everybody hug today 🙈

As for mom and Albert yesterday she updated me around 5pm He just got out of recovery has arrived in his room and he is awake, hungry and feels really good at the moment.

As for your weather update, here in Waterloo it’s currently
-2 and cloudy. Still no show yet ❄️ ⛄️ however my lovely boyfriend Andrew and this Christmas music music on repeat. He really favours Michael Bublé.

WOW!!!
Absolutely amazing to hear about all that you have accomplished as a group – well done everyone!! It is wonderful to hear how generous people have been and a full boutique is such a blessing for our Haitian friends.
Thrilled that Lammy was able to see our lady with the chin growth and follow up with her – I’m sure she needed help to carry home all of the gifts you had for her!
Nice to hear that a few of you were trying out different jobs – I’m sure Daisy kept everyone in medical smiling all day long!
Hugs to all of you – keep up the great work!
P.S. Please remember a couple of milk mats for my family of Shelcie and Chandeline Louis so their little brothers don’t continue to sleep on the dirt…THANK YOU :-)

Hi Daisy and Hochi

It is exciting following your days!!! Everyone is working so hard and doing such amazing work. Life here has been interesting. I was tidying up your house and found the baby in one of the cupboards. He sometimes comes into the kitchen and looks at the items as if he is looking for a snack. Sometimes he grabs something, sometimes he just leaves. I noticed the bottom was empty and I was excited to find some storage space, so I filled it with paper towels, wipes, marshmallows, pasta, and a few other items that were on the counter. Then, as I was loading the dishwasher the baby came in and went to the cupboard. I was looking but I heard him say repeatedly “nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, . . . ” Then he left. I was curious and went to see what that was about I discovered he had taken all of the items OUT of his cupboard and tossed them about the kitchen floor,. Each nope was an item that didn’t belong in HIS cupboard. So I found other spots to store the items, because baby rules the cupboard and the house.
Also Robbie and I were looking at the photos. We talked about how hard everyone was working, and that is probably why EE has no butt because she is working her butt off. I expected a laugh from Robbie but his eyes got real big, and with an incredulous tone, he shouted “AND SHE HAS NO PENIS!” I still laugh every time I think of that! The boys are doing well. Dow Dow is doing well. Jon-Jon is doing well. Everyone misses you.

Hi Mom (Grace)!
