Final Greetings from Haiti on January 23:
We had a wonderful day of rest after 9 days of service, 8 for the Tuesday crew. Sun, sand and water at the Kaliko resort…it was great. The children from our orphanage joined us for a day of fun by the pool. Tomorrow is the long trek home through 3 airports, 2 airplane rides and motor trip from Toronto to be reunited with our families.
Tonight, we will be sitting around a bonfire sharing our experiences of the trip. I know there (...)

Glenn led the morning devotion contained in Hebrews Chapter 13 that encourages us to keep being concerned about each other. Don’t fall in love with money. Be satisfied with what you have. Greetings from Haiti on January 20: The breakfast menu continued with a few variations. It has been a great overall variety better than my home routine. Glenn led the morning devotion that discusses the beatitudes (the blessings) contained in Matthew Chapter 5. God blesses those people who are humble, merciful, and peaceful, have pure hearts, etc. for those people will be called his children and they will see him and belong to the kingdom of heaven. after 7:30 AM the men headed out to the storage container on the site and started a brigade to organize 400 packages of dried soup mix. Everyone gathered at 9:00 AM for a group picture on the playground Akeyi d’ Aiti (In Creole). Glenn led us in prayer before our breakfast of pancakes and bacon. Shortly equipment (reminds me of public school pictures) and then we single file paraded into church with a chair each and sat down with the over 300 Haitians that were already there. Pastor (...)

I awoke at 6:15 AM to the sound of laughter coming outside right below our dormitory. It is tradition at the campus in Haiti for the “larks” to congregate in a circle, talk about whatever and laugh. You know it is going to be a good day when you hear that enthusiastic laughter. The breakfast this morning had cream of wheat and scrambled eggs with the remainder being the same. Whole oranges were available for the first time and they didn’t look as perfect as the ones back home but (...)

January 14, 2014.
The Tuesday Team (17) were thankful to arrive safely at Campus Messialle at 4:30 PM. It is a long trek starting out at the Toronto Airport at 3 AM. It is quite a routine when you travel thru 3 airports, completely different from the quiet peaceful life in Innerkip that I enjoy and appreciate. We were welcomed enthusiastically by the Monday Team (15) who arrived yesterday. Many team members had met on previous mission trips and everyone was happy to show the members (...)
